Someone is experiencing a mental health or substance-use crisis, and there is a concern for immediate personal or community safety—call 911. If there is no immediate concern for safety and the person appears to be 13 years or older, call or text CRCL for a community-led response at 250-818-2454 (daily, 7:30 a.m. to 12:30 a.m.).

For crimes in progress (e.g. shoplifting, broken windows, graffiti tags)—call 911. If the criminal or suspicious activity is no longer taking place, call the VicPD non‑emergency line at 250‑995‑7654, or report online if there is no suspect information and police follow-up is not required.

Obstructions, encampments, aggressive panhandling, noise issues, work taking place without a permit: report to Bylaw Services online. Bylaw Officers respond to calls for service 7 days a week between 7 a.m. and 4 p.m. After Bylaw hours, call the VicPD non‑emergency line at 250‑995‑7654 and be clear that the issue needs immediate attention and request that the call taker generate a report. For unattended hazards on public infrastructure, call Public Works at 250‑361‑0400, available 24/7.

Parking Services – City of Victoria

The City of Victoria operates five parkades, three surface parking lots, and has nearly 2,000 on-street spaces to choose from.

Parking Types:

  • Meters: Paid 8 a.m.–8 p.m.; free Sundays and holidays
