Hello Victoria! It’s Zoe, the summer marketing student, on the blog again!
We have been waiting for steady summer days so patiently, and finally, it’s the time to celebrate the patio season!
To be honest, I have not experienced the patio culture before as the weather in Taiwan only makes you want to stay in houses instead of outdoor dining. So, it’s a great chance for me to explore the patios we have in downtown Victoria with everyone and with lovely sunshine. While searching the patios downtown, I found a great list with various categories that are worth adding to the summer bucket list.
Eating at patios is also a way to show some love to the hospitality industry here! Whether you just want a casual bite or a more elegant date with loved ones, there is a patio out there with a summer drink waiting for you!
Now, are you ready to hop on patio adventures with me?

Fort St. Parklet
Do you know the parklet on Fort Street is the first one in Victoria? Here is a brief background of our very unique parklet!
First of all, what is a parklet?
According to dictionary.com:
“An urban space for sitting, dining, or enjoying greenery, established where the sidewalk meets the street, often repurposing on-street parking spaces and part of the sidewalk.”
The Fort Street Parklet was built in 2015 as part of the Fabulous Fort campaign, which was endorsed by our organization. When the pandemic hit, parklets were erected all over downtown, many are included in our lists above.
Now that we know the history of parklets downtown, below are some options that you can bring something with you to the original Fort Street parklet, enjoy the scenery, and have a chat!
