“The idea is that nature is outside but its also inside and this space might help you see it in a different way.”
As Executive Director at the Bateman Foundation, Peter has the best of both worlds. His background is in museum management and conservation is a lifelong passion for him. His role at the Foundation brings these two interests together.
Under Peter’s direction, the Bateman Foundation offers many incredible community programs, particularly for children and youth. The goal of the Bateman Foundation, and Peter’s personal goal, is to connect people with nature so that they understand how important it is to protect our natural environment. Visiting the gallery is a way to build that connection through art.
Victoria is one of the most beautiful cities in the world and the natural landscape is a big part of that. Peter believes that an interest in nature is part of the Victorian identity.
