1. Winter The Night Market at Heartwood & Co

Where: 1402 Broad St

When: Monday, December 6th

What better way to celebrate the holiday season than supporting local? On Monday, December 6th there will be food, wine, and some amazing local vendors at Heartwood & Co from 4pm-9pm.

2. Bastion Square Holiday Market

Where: Bastion Square

When: Saturday, December 11th (multiple dates)

Time: 11am – 4pm

This annual event returns to Bastion Square (between Langley and Wharf) this holiday season! Take a stroll through Bastion Square, lit by holiday lights, and peruse a lovely selection of handmade gifts made by local artisans, makers and food producers at the Bastion Square Holiday Market. Some market days will also feature music and activities.

3. Christmas Comedy Show with Mike Delamont

Where: The Mint Restaurant

When: Wednesday, December 8th

Time: 9pm – 10:30pm

Critically acclaimed and award winning comedian MIke Delamont (Just for Laughs, Winnipeg Comedy Festival, Halifax Comedy Festival, CBC) headlines our Christmas comedy special at the Mint. Featuring Morgan Cranny and Drew Farrance you’re in for a wonderful evening of food, drink and fun!

Wildly popular and always new, Phillips Comedy Night is a hilarious night out. Come downstairs and enjoy the delicious west coast Himalayan cuisine that the Mint is famous for.

Seating is limited, be sure to book your table early! There are options for 2, 4 or 6 only.

 

4. Buche de Noel

Where: Victoria Public Market at The Hudson

When: Saturday, December 11th

Time: 11am – 1pm

In this demonstration class, you’ll learn to make a rolled chocolate sponge cake filled with a coffee-flavoured buttercream filling, studded with crushed toffee. The cake is finished with chocolate ganache and decorated with shards of chocolate ‘bark’ (not pictured).

You’ll also learn to make adorable meringue ‘mushrooms’ a sweet crunchy garnish for your yule log. A Bûche de Noël could be the start of a new Christmas tradition! Samples included. Class length may vary depending on student numbers, questions, etc.

Important note: In keeping with British Columbia’s Covid guidelines, attendees are required to wear masks during class. (Masks can be removed while sampling food, of course.) Registration is limited to 14 guests but as space is limited, seating will NOT be two meters apart. We are requesting proof of vaccination as an additional precaution.

 

5. Cabernet Cabaret | VEC Fundraiser

Where: Victoria Events Centre, 1415 Broad Street

When: Thursday, December 9th

Time: 7pm – 11pm

19+ event. Featuring burlesque performances, comedy, music and a wine tasting.  Featuring: Vincent Vanderheide, Titty Titty Bang Bang, Dylan Williams, SHEL and DJ C Frets. Ticket includes full tasting of five different wines from indigenous world winery and hillside wines.

 

6. Ecologyst Factory Tours

Where: 2110 Store Street

When: Saturday, December 11th

Time: 3pm – 4pm

Free tours of Ecologyst’s new Headquarters & Factory space, a chance to see behind the scenes of everything Ecologyst. Have you ever wondered how clothing is made? Especially ethical & sustainable clothing? We’re offering free tours of our Factory & Headquarters, where you can see real clothing being made by real people, right here! This is also a great opportunity to meet the folks behind some of your favourite wardrobe pieces and see where the magic happens. Think an eco friendly, MTV Cribs style tour. Attendees must wear masks and be free of COVID symptoms. Registration is greatly appreciated, but please feel free to drop by and say hello!
