Pom Pom Boutique

Welcome to Small Business Month! Through October, you will be introduced to some amazing local downtown Victoria business owners. We interviewed each owner to learn more about their business and what it is like to operate downtown.

Today, meet Natalie of Pom Pom Boutique. Let’s read more about what he has to say!

The Inspiration behind Pom Pom Boutique

With a business background of over 36 years, Natalie specializes in all things fashion! First starting her career as a printmaker in Ontario, she was able to kick start her art career in 1984. Having her husband beside her as her business partner, they were able to adapt to ever-changing business trends over the years! Natalie and her partner were first inspired to open a bead store while in Ontario. Following this, as fashion trends were shifting, Natalie wanted to ensure her business plan was evolving. This was her push to shift to women’s clothing and accessories. After moving to Victoria for family, Natalie and her partner made a permanent stay for Pom Pom Boutique as well in the heart of downtown Victoria!

“I just love the art of things…like the art of dressing up!”

Social Media

One of the fun and strategic business ideas Natalie loves to do is her social media! What started as just experimenting with Instagram reels of the store began a unique Pom Pom Boutique tradition. Being known for having a delightful and entertaining Instagram page is what really draws in customers for Natalie! This entails one of Natalie’s talented employees modeling Pom Pom Boutique clothing and doing fun classical dances! It is also known for passing by customers to want to join in this joyful activity.

Operating Downtown Victoria

When asked if she enjoyed having her business within the downtown core, Natalie emphasized she has absolutely loved it over the years! The best part is having the joyful customers come in and be in love with all her clothing items. As she offers an eclectic array of options to shoppers, individuals who come into the store have so much to choose from!
