Downtown Business Compass Newsletter
Email connor@downtownvictoria.ca to be added to the Business Compass e-mail newsletter. We understand business owners are busy and respect your time, we will not spam your inbox unnecessarily. This newsletter is sent to all downtown business owners every other Tuesday evening and includes information is pertinent to downtown businesses, such as member events or marketing opportunities.
Networking
The DVBA hosts membership events a few times yearly. These events provide opportunities to discuss challenges, share ideas, and meet other engaged members of the downtown business community. You must subscribe to the Business Compass newsletter (email connor@downtownvictoria.ca) to receive event invitations.
Clean Team
The DVBA Clean Team operates weekdays from 8AM to 4PM. If you have garbage, drug paraphernalia, tags, or otherwise need help with your storefront, call 250-386-2238. Find out more about the Clean Team here.
Advocacy

Hosting an event downtown? Submit it to our online events calendar! This is the most popular part of our website and we use events on this page to curate our twice-monthly What’s Up Downtown? Newsletter.
Downtown Victoria Gift Cards
Any downtown business can register to be part of the Downtown Victoria Gift Card program. Registration is free and takes only a few minutes. Once registered, businesses can receive a $100 gift card to run a giveaway. Since launching the program in 2024, the DVBA has sold/given away over $150,000 in gift cards. That is free money for registered businesses whose customers choose to use the Downtown Victoria Gift Cards at their location. To find out more and register, email becca@downtownvictoria.ca.

GRANTS
Grants
The Downtown Victoria Business Association offers a suite of grant programs to help downtown businesses improve safety, appearance, and overall vibrancy. These grants provide cost-sharing support for exterior lighting, security upgrades, vandalism repairs, gull deterrents, and storefront or building façade improvements. Together, the programs are designed to help businesses respond to immediate challenges, make proactive improvements, and contribute to a welcoming, safe, and attractive downtown for everyone.
