More than thirty years in downtown Victoria

As a sole-owner professional elder woman, my business “Andrews-Greene CPA, Helping YOU Turn YOUR Dreams Into Reality” is a highly-respected, award-winning professional storefront practice which has happily (and successfully) operated in the downtown Victoria area for more than thirty years.

Evelyn Andrews-Greene of Andrews-Greene CPA in downtown Victoria.

My sole-owner professional firm Andrews-Greene CPA provides a wide range of proactive small business, income tax, and financial planning professional advise and support to small business owner managers and individuals within our Greater Victoria area.  My professional services include: Canadian income tax planning and tax return compilations for personal and corporations; small business planning, management, and profit planning; Life-Themes-based financial and strategic planning; career changes and retirement planning, etc. My clientele includes young and middle-aged, within our Greater Victoria geographic area and primarily within the services sectors (tourism, professional, public sector) as well as environmental and social justice/wellness support organizations. My clients describe me as a “holistic accountant”, putting a comprehensive and grounded perspective on moving forward.

Downtown Victoria is beautiful and bustling, and my sole-owner professional firm is exclusively focused on providing professional services to our Greater Victoria area, primarily to those living and working in James Bay, Fairfield, Oak Bay, and the Saanich Peninsula areas.

Enjoying Victoria’s stunning surroundings.

We are located to be very accessible to small business owners and individuals within our Greater Victoria area, street-level at 711 A Broughton St. downtown, close to the Royal Theatre and our wonderful Victoria harbour.  This storefront location has a 99 Walker’s Paradise score (daily errands do not require a car), a 76 Excellent Transit score (transit is convenient for most trips), AND a 90 Biker’s Paradise score (daily errands can be accomplished on a bike).

#EachforEqual means building a vibrant, positive, all-inclusive community

My motto: “Aim for the moon, and you’ll at least be amongst the stars.” Walking one’s talk is key.

I was the first woman accepted into the Chartered Accounting articling program in Saskatchewan in 1973 (with the international CA firm of Deloittes Touche), then a male-only profession. Only a couple of decades later, and my accounting profession is comfortably equally-balanced. (In addition to being the first woman accepted into the CA articling program in Saskatchewan, I was the first who came with a BA in Psychology, instead of with a B.Com – even more hard work that usual, catching-up on the B.Com!)

Evelyn, hard at work on a different kind of project.

My sole-owner Chartered Accounting firm was also only one of a very few sole-owner firms approved to train Chartered Accounting articling students for twenty years; unbelievably rare for any sole-owner in Canada, woman or man. We should all be focused on building a vibrant, positive, all-inclusive community!

As a sole-owner downtown Victoria professional, my CA firm has won the Annual “Professional Company of Vancouver Island” Business-Excellence Award in four different years, and my firm won second place (to Delta Hotel) in the Greater Victoria Chamber of Commerce’s “Excellence in Training in the Workplace” Annual Award.

Words of wisdom for other entrepreneurs

Ask yourself: What are the top three “Life Themes” most important to you over the next three years. These are your most important targets — tape these to your bathroom mirror. Then invest in yourself. Find an excellent Chartered Professional Accountant, business lawyer, and business bank to support you.

And, be patient with yourself. Self growth is tender; it’s holy ground. There’s no greater investment.
