Comic Books, Pop Culture, Star Trek, Star Wars, and So Much More

Capital City Comic Con is an all-ages three-day event at Crystal Gardens and the Victoria Conference Centre celebrating comic books, comic book culture, science fiction, and fantasy. Creators, experts, local groups, and organizations host tables, shows, demos, and speaking events throughout the weekend. Check out this packed and captivating lineup. Grab your cape, your curiosity, and your tickets.

This year, Capital City Comic Con celebrities include Marina Sirtis, best known as Star Trek‘s Counselor Deanna Troi, Dan Fogler, most recently known as No-Maj, Jacob Kowalski, in the J.K. Rowling adaptation of the Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, and A Clockwork Orange‘s Malcolm McDowell.

“The most exciting thing is seeing everyone coming together and having a good time. It’s a safe space to enjoy your time, whatever fandom is part of your life, at whatever stage you are at. Kids light up, adults light up – they all find what they’ve been looking for.”

-B, Owner, Cherry Bomb Toys and co-presenter

Many people engage in cosplay (dressing up as favorite Anima, Marvel, DC, Star Wars, Harry Potter characters etc.) for the event. Get creative. Enjoy these photos from last year’s Capital City Comic Con for a lot of inspiration.

Vancouver’s Geekenders take the stage over the weekend with a few shows, including a cabaret showcasing “performances from all your favourite fandoms, including Star Wars, Harry Potter, Disney, Lord of the Rings, Batman, and more!” The Geekenders are known for their geeky, inspired, hilarious, body-positive reference-filled shows.

Come for all three days or just an afternoon, but do join us for this inclusive, entertaining and memorable weekend of other worlds, other times, and other fantastical finds.
