There are so many sweet businesses in Victoria that we couldn’t include them all in one list. So, if you haven’t read our previous post where we mapped out a Route One, we encourage you to do that now.

This Second Route takes you in a different direction, has almost as many stops but this one includes a couple specialty bakers on the list.

ROUTE TWO

1. Starting from Tout de Sweet Confections (First Stop) you will walk for 10 minutes

2. Second Stop – Rogers Chocolates

Known for their Victoria Cream chocolates, Rogers’ Chocolates is steeped in tradition and a rich history that has earned them reputation as one of Canada’s premiere chocolatiers. Charles “Candy” Rogers moved to Victoria B.C. in 1885. He very quickly established a “green grocery” on the west side of Government Street, across from the location he would later develop into the iconic heritage store they call home today.

Located one block up the street from Rogers is the

3. Third Stop – Chocolate Favoris

Quebec-based Chocolats Favoris was founded in 1979 as a small family-owned business that produced high-end chocolate products for Easter. Chocolats Favoris became know for the dark liquid chocolate it made to dip cones at their ice-cream counters throughout the Quebec City region. It was purchased in 2012 by former tech entrepreneur Dominique Brown who has ambitions to building the brand to be one of the world’s leaders in chocolate. The Victoria location opened in 2017 and features stylish counters that sell hard chocolates and ice-cream products, including dipped cones.

4. Fourth Stop – Empire Donuts

Donuts. Donuts. Donuts. Need we say more?

Take note that they are only open: Tuesday to Friday, 8am until 3pm or until Sold Out; Saturday, 9am until 3pm or until Sold Out. So get there early!

5. Fifth Stop The Cookie Guy

A mere 2 minute walk from Empire is The Cookie Guy. Guess what he makes – COOOKIES! And they are WARM too!!

The Cookie Guy is open Mon – Fri 7:45am – 6pm; Saturday from 12pm – 5pm.

6. Sixth (and final) Stop – Cold Comfort

And about a 10-15 minute walk from Cookies is the final stop in this route – Cold Comfort ice cream. Cold Comfort is seasonally inspired and everything is hand-crafted in small batches. Best known for some of the best ice cream sandwiches around (my fav is Rosemary & Sour Cherry (Rosemary ice cream studded with sour cherries, vanilla dacquoise)), you can also get ice cream (dairy, non-dairy, standard or vegan) by the scoop or customize your own Empire Donuts ice cream sandwich.
