"Whim Rules The Child": Archaeological Evidence for Childhood in the Viking Age

Location: Royal BC Museum

Event: The University of Victoria's Dr. Erin McGuire lectures on Viking culture.  This event will look at the lives of Norse children during the Middle Ages, bringing together diverse evidence from across the Viking World in an attempt to piece together this elusive aspect of Viking lives.  The main focus will be archaeological material from places like Sweden, Ireland, Scotland, the Faeroe Islands, and Iceland.  The lecture is $16 per person, with a 10% discount for members.
