UPLIFT Women’s Business Summit: Empowering Women to Succeed in Business and Leadership with Keynote Speaker Jamie Kern Lima
Victoria, BC – UPLIFT Women’s Business Summit is excited to announce its highly anticipated two-day event on November 14th and 15th. The summit is dedicated to fostering a community of strong, ambitious, and determined women in business, connecting 800 women from Vancouver Island, Vancouver, the lower mainland, and across Canada. This empowering gathering offers attendees a unique opportunity to connect with like-minded women, gain valuable insights from industry leaders, and learn practical strategies through talks and breakout sessions to advance their careers or businesses.
One of the highlights of the UPLIFT Women’s Business Summit is the presence of keynote speaker Jamie Kern Lima, the self-made billionaire entrepreneur and founder of IT Cosmetics. Jamie’s inspiring journey of perseverance and success will motivate attendees to take action and achieve their goals. Alongside Jamie, the summit will feature an impressive lineup of speakers, including Sarah Nicole Landry, known as @thebirdspapaya on social media, a writer and advocate for body positivity, mental health, and wellness; Meghan Milkowski, VP of Print Operations at Wall Street Journal; Darcy Matheson, Editorial Director of Daily Hive, a popular news and lifestyle website; and Ashley Freeborn, the Founder and CEO of Smash + Tess, a Canadian loungewear brand, along with Chau Lui, co-owner of Paris Jewellers, and many other female powerhouses.
At the core of the UPLIFT Women’s Business Summit is a commitment to support all women, including those facing financial and personal challenges. To fulfill this commitment, we have partnered with Mamas for Mamas, a national charity supporting mothers and caregivers in need. Recognizing the power of community and giving back to those in need, UPLIFT Women’s Business Summit has pledged to donate 1% of event revenue to the Vancouver Island branch of the charity. This contribution will provide essential support services, including food security, mental health counseling, and educational programs, to mothers and caregivers in need.
Many women in business face silent struggles as they navigate the challenges of scaling their businesses or careers while balancing their home lives and financials. Imposter syndrome and self-doubt are common issues that women often encounter as they strive for success. UPLIFT understands these challenges and provides support and resources to help women overcome them. The summit will include sessions on overcoming imposter syndrome, building resilience, financial literacy, leadership, equity and inclusion, and more.
