Artists:

JAXXEE

Simultaneously looking back while looking forward, JAXXEE’s music pays homage to the classic sound of blues and soul, while also innovating by blending these sounds with modern electronic elements and contemporary production techniques. Inspired by powerhouses Carole King, Aretha Franklin and Erykah Badu, in additional to the sounds of Portishead, En Vogue and the Black Pumas, her moody sultry vocals are commanding, evocative and timeless. RAW AUTHENTIC SOUL.

Debut single “GONE” was mixed and mastered by the renowned Grammy-nominated Count, known for his work with Tycho, DJ Shadow, No Doubt, and Mavis Staples. The production was in the expert hands of Neil James Cooke-Dallin of Burning Rainbow Studio, an award winner celebrated as the Instrumental Artist of the Year at the 2022 Western Canadian Music Awards with his project Astrocolor.

Mikey Jose

A combination of retro soul and modern R7B/pop flair, Mikey Jose’s familiar yet novel sound has been turning heads internationally and catching the attention of major global talent. Drawing comparisons to soulful heavy-hitters like Stevie Wonder and Leon Bridges, Jose carves his own lane that blends generational sounds while injecting his own fresh take on growing up in modern times. His latest collaborative single release “Making It Right” with Augie Bello and Harrison Finks is a testament to this, landing on Spotify editorial playlists “Retro Pop”, “NuFunk”, and “Soul in the City” next to similar sounds like Allen Stone, MAX, and Samm Henshaw.

The Bankes Brothers

The Victoria, BC four-piece—brothers Nelson and Morgan Bankes on vocals and guitar, lead guitarist Carson Cleaver, and drummer Gray Oxley—formed in a pool hall one Friday night in 2017. Less than a week later, they played their first gig. Delivering a dynamic set list ranging from Otis Redding to Talking Heads, the former high school classmates were overwhelmed by an undeniable musical chemistry.

Now with the recent release of their debut full EP “In Waves” on March 1st, 2024 – and the highly anticipated release of the final track “Walkin” – all eyes return to The Bankes Brothers for what promises to be another banner year for one Canada’s rising stars in contemporary rock and roll, set to embark on a whirlwind tour of the UK alongside Red Rum Club.
