Ted Ngoy arrives to America in 1975 as a penniless refugee escaping war-torn Cambodia. He builds an unlikely multi-million-dollar empire baking America’s favourite pastry – the donut. He sponsors hundreds of visas for incoming refugees and helps them get on their feet, teaching them the ways of the donut business. By 1979 he is living the American Dream, but great rise can come with great falls. Ted’s life is a rags to riches story of fate, love, survival, hard knocks, and redemption.
