Equip yourself with the tools to respond effectively when you witness acts of racism. Join the Victoria Downtown Residents Association for a free Bystander Intervention Training, facilitated by Tariro Murwira of the Inter-Cultural Association.

Register for your free spot here.

The training will consist of two sessions (part 2 will take place on May 15th from 6 to 8:30 pm in the same location) and those who register are asked to commit to attending both sessions.

The training provides individuals with practical ways to navigate tough conversations and situations around race. It is for individuals of all ages who want to move beyond silence and be active upstanders when they see instances of racism or discrimination.

During Part 1, participants will learn:
-how to recognize and respond to racist incidents,
-the history and practices of Bystander Intervention,
-strategies to interrupt racism in different contexts and spaces.

Participants will begin to recognize ways they can use practical anti-racism tools to support Indigenous, Black and People of Colour in their communities. To find out more about the content of the training, visit ICA’s website.

A limited number of spots are available, so please only sign up if you are relatively certain that you will be able to attend both sessions.
