Volume FIVE, we can barely believe that we have been hosting Bands!Bands!Bands! for 5 months now, bringing 16 bands to our stage! Where has the time gone… Join us Tuesday, January 16th for the first Bands!Bands!Bands! of 2024.
Let’s welcome the next FOUR local bands to join the series; Luna Land, Chilko in the Rosemary, The Deadly Hiyas, and The New Owners.
Luna Land
Luna Land collectively creates a mix of jazzy, soulful, power-pop and a mix of something special, something original. Together they will gift their audiences some groovy tunes that are sure to get stuck in your head and to soothe the heart, and lastly to uplift the spirit.
Chilko in the Rosemary
Chilko in the Rosemary will trigger the dancer in you, whether you dance like a hurricane, groove like a gorilla, or chill like a sloth. The vibe is one size fits all. Their music blurs the lines of rock and pop, augmented with surfable waves of funk and soul. Their catchy melodies and animated performance create a happy atmosphere suited for all to enjoy the way they want.
The Deadly Hiyas
Hailing from Victoria, The Deadly Hiyas are a psychedelic rock and roll band with a mix of funk and grunge. Although every member is from a different province, they have come together in the name of music to share their love and influences to the music community! Alex their front man and song writer moved from Edmonton, Alberta in search for new adventures to share his songs with more of Canada. Subsequently finding musicians from the open mic he came across at the Mint, he met Pete Gowan, and Joey, who all share the same love for the 90s era of music and the energy from 70s rock and roll ! From then on its been a wild ride reforming these songs into what they are now with only more to come!!
The New Owners
The New Owners are a 5 piece indie rock / indie pop band from Langford BC consisting of dual frontmen Elijah Driver and Jamie Beaman both on guitar and vocals, Brandon Weatherell on bass, Tyler Thomassen on drums, and Erik Evans on keys.
The 5-piece outfit sport sweet and sticky grooves underneath warm, catchy melodies with a colorful combination of chorused-out guitars, spacey synths, and the upbeat tempo of their indie rock roots, taking inspiration from indie pop bands like Men I Trust, Mac Demarco, and Her’s.
