The Research Universities’ Council of British Columbia
RUCBC works with and on behalf of its members to improve the quality, accessibility and coordination of university education in British Columbia. The Council provides a single voice on behalf of the six major universities on public policy issues including funding, research, accountability, admissions and transfer. RUCBC is funded by the member universities. The six university presidents are the members of the Council and the Chair of RUCBC is selected from these members. Professor Andrew Petter, President, Simon Fraser University, is the current Chair for RUCBC. RUCBC also has four Vice-Presidents Committees (Academic, Research, Finance and External Relations) as well as a number of standing committees that meet as needed (e.g., Institutional Analysis, Human Resources, etc.). Staff of RUCBC include the President, a Vice-President, who is also the Executive Director of the University Public Sector Employers' Association, a Director of Policy & Research and an Executive Administrative Assistant.
