LoJo

A walk along Lower Johnson Street (the 500-block of Johnson) includes some of Victoria's best boutiques, several world-class hair salons, speciality shops and some beautiful buildings! This street's heritage dates back to the founding of Victoria, and includes Market Square, a unique open-air downtown shopping centre. This is also the place to go for all your fashion needs; the boutiques here are mostly independent, carrying clothing which will set you apart from the crowd!

Green Collective

The Green Collective "thinks, creates, and sells eco-friendly products"; it is an affiliation of Victoria shops with a shared common goal of providing ethical choices and sending the message that sustainability is good for business and the planet.  Green Collective shops are united by their vision, not their geographic location, and create and sell natural body care products, cleaning supplies, foods, fabrics, fibres, and clothing.

Historic Chinatown District

The Historic Chinatown District is one of the oldest Chinatowns in North America. Since 1858 and the Fraser River Gold Rush, it has been developing as a secret city within our city. Visit Fan Tan Alley and thrill at the narrow side streets filled with independent shops. Buy fresh fruit or vegetables from one of the many grocers. Marvel at the statues and gateways while steeping yourself in history.

Government Street

With something for everyone, Government Street never disappoints. Whether a gourmet chocolate shop, trendy cafe, or Irish-style pub is what suits your tastes, you'll be impressed by the best-of-the-best. The shopping is spectacular with its selection of boutiques, many of which are independent, locally-owned businesses. From athletic to fashionable footwear, from jeans to formal gowns, everything you could want is right here on Government Street.

Fabulous Fort

Fort Street, home of fantastic restaurants, jewellery shops, independent stores to cater to your specialized tastes, and some of the best professionals in Victoria, is waiting for you! Come on out and see what Fabulous Fort has to offer you.

Downtown Victoria Art Galleries

Eighteen art galleries have joined forces to highlight the downtown art scene by creating a self-guided tour brochure. This brochure showcases the vibrant local gallery scene while capitalizing on the fact that Victoria is one of the world's most walkable cities. This brochure can be found at downtown galleries, the DVBA offices at 20 Centennial Square, local hotels and the Tourism Victoria Information Centre.

Broad Street

Keeping you Fit and Looking Good!

The streetscape from the Bay Centre to City Hall, along Broad Street, is one of the most interesting in the City. There's vibrant sidewalk and street art, heritage buildings, and a rich variety of shops and entertainments. Colourful mosaics formed of brick, tile, rock and glass in designs of spirals and swirls stretch down the sidewalks. Connecting with these blocks is Trounce Alley, a once-private passageway owned by Thomas Trounce; it is now filled with interesting businesses.
